Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure to leave plenty of space between the cookies, as they will spread as they bake.
  • Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • To serve the cookies half-baked, simply remove them from the oven a few minutes earlier than the recommended baking time. The centers should still be soft and gooey, while the edges will be slightly crispy.
