Ingredients

  • 10-12 peri peri peppers can substitute with other hot peppers if peri peri peppers are not available
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of white vinegar
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  • The next step is to roast the peri peri peppers. This will help to bring out their flavor and make them easier to blend.
  • To roast the peppers, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the peppers on the sheet.
  • Roast the peppers for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are slightly charred and soft.
  • Once the peppers are roasted, let them cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a blender or food processor.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender, including the olive oil, white vinegar, minced garlic, salt, sugar, paprika, and lemon juice. Blend the ingredients until they are well combined and the sauce has a smooth consistency.
  • After blending, taste the peri peri sauce and adjust the flavor as needed. If you prefer a spicier sauce, you can add more peppers or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • If you prefer a milder sauce, you can reduce the amount of peppers or add a bit more sugar or lemon juice to balance out the flavors.
