For the Mac & Cheese patties
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 8 burger buns or 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
For the cheese sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
- 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
For the Mac & Cheese patties
In a large bowl, combine ground beef and shredded cheese. Mix until well combined.
Add flour, salt, and pepper; mix until well combined.
In a small bowl, whisk together egg and oil or butter. Stir into the beef mixture until well combined.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Mix together buns and 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese. Place the mixture on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
For the cheese sauce
Place the butter in a medium pan. Melt the butter over medium-low heat.
Add evaporated milk, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and hot sauce, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until warmed through.
Stir in the cheese, 1 2 cup at a time, until melted. Immediately remove from heat.
