Ingredients
  

For the Mac & Cheese patties

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 8 burger buns or 2 cups grated cheddar cheese

For the cheese sauce

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
  • 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

For the Mac & Cheese patties

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef and shredded cheese. Mix until well combined.
  • Add flour, salt, and pepper; mix until well combined.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together egg and oil or butter. Stir into the beef mixture until well combined.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Mix together buns and 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese. Place the mixture on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

For the cheese sauce

  • Place the butter in a medium pan. Melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  • Add evaporated milk, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and hot sauce, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until warmed through.
  • Stir in the cheese, 1 2 cup at a time, until melted. Immediately remove from heat.
